We ended up in Clarks on Saturday morning, buying Freyja new school shoes because the very expensive pair that I bought her in September (which were also the first pair of school shoes I have bought which were not just off the shelf from M&S) have fallen apart. I'm not too happy about that.
We got some new ones. They have flashing lights in them. I didn't know this until Freyja had tried them on, noticed the lights and declared they were the ones she wanted. But these days you can get shoes that have toys in the heels (yes, really) so maybe lights is not so bad.
Theo 'just call me Imelda' got a pair of shoes too. He loves his shoes. He has school shoes and football boots and trainers for PE and crocs and sandals. What he doesn't have is a pair of shoes just to kick about in at the weekend. So we got a bargain pair of Clarks for just £10. These ones have holographic dinosaurs on the side.
Theo's feet are now bigger than Freyja's. She's an 11E, he's 11.5F. Her feet never seem to grow. His never stop.

weirdly, Jacob and Sam's feet haven't grown for over a year. They're both still 12.5. In Sam's case - 12.5 I, which makes shoe buying fun.
I always buy fitted school shoes, because they have difficult feet, but I've stopped buying Clarks - last year, Jacob had two pairs of Clarks, both of which fell appart. I wasn't impressed. Anyway, they've both got Startrite this year and they appear to be holding up.
Wow, 12.5I must be really hard to get!
Interesting that you found Clarks fell apart - I'll see how these ones last. Freyja's were a make I didn't know, I was hoping Clarks would be more reliable...
Theo's school shoes are Startrite, and they have been great especially when you consider the battering they take on a daily basis!
