End of Year One

Today is Freyja's last day of term and last day of Year 1.  She's done super dooper well at school this year.  She has progressed from Stage 5 Biff & Chip books at the beginning of the year to chapter books from the school library (and been rated as 'well above the expected level of reading' in her end of year report).  She has received a head teacher award for attainment in writing. Her behaviour and effort has been excellent.  I'm very, very proud of her.

So of course it was lovely to read her report. But the bit I particularly enjoyed was the questionnaire she had filled out as part of the report.

I actually snorted with laughter (in the school hall in front of everyone) when I read her answer to question 4.

If you can't quite read it, the question is 'What would you like to do next year?'  And Freyja has written 'I would like to learn Scottish next year'.

In fact, what she meant was Icelandic.  She is having a bit of trouble with mixing up Scotland and Iceland right now...!

Well done, my big girl.  We are proud of how well you behave and how hard you try with all of your school work.
