House of Coughs

We have not been all that well in the Lightly household for the last few months. There has been an endless round of coughs and colds that we cannot seem to get rid of.

My husband started it, way back before Christmas, with a hideous cough which then morphed into another hideous cough which he kindly passed on to me. He has only just got rid of his cough in the last 2 weeks or so. I have just about got rid of mine but am still dealing with rather alarmingly coloured mucus and bunged up sinuses. Which basically means a permanent headache.

The two older children have also had coughs. We're quite lucky with illnesses usually - the kids do get coughs and colds but they are never very bad, though Freyja does suffer horribly with persistent night time coughs whenever she comes down with something. Anyway, they have had coughs but have been ok, not as bad as their poor mum and dad anyway.

And last to succumb has been poor Noah, who seemed to escape the worst of it only to start coughing and spluttering a week or so ago and is still at it, waking him (and therefore me) up in the night.

And I know we are not alone. It does seem to have been a particularly virus-filled winter round here this year.
