I, Theo
In the last two weeks Theo has started using 'I' when he talks. Freyja didn't do this for ages - she was a 'Freyja wants', 'Freyja do it' kind of talker. Theo has gone straight to using 'I'.
Sometimes he even gets it right.
He says 'I did it' and 'I finish' and 'I want it'. Generally though he just uses it to refer to something he want, is doing, or believes belongs to him. It's cute and often funny.
He says 'I apple' or 'I nappy' or 'I dinner'. Or, our favourite so far, when he called us into his bedroom in the morning and, when we asked where he was, his little muffled voice emerged from behind the curtains: 'I window!'

It is one of the last things that kids get, I think because parents almost always refer to themselves in the third person. We don't often think of it but you must find yourself saying, "no mummy's tired". And that kind of thing.
I wonder if second children get it sooner?
I still often say 'Mummy....' when referring to myself!
But yes, I probably do it less with Theo than I did with Freyja, and of course he hears Freyja talking and she always uses 'I' now. It's only me stuck in the third person...!!
That is wonderful!! :-)
That's so clever - we're not even close to that (and have you and me mixed up)
@Muddling Along Mummy - Theo has spoken much earlier and uses many more words than Freyja did at his age. My mum said that my brother's second child also went straight to using 'I' when he started talking. Must be from hearing so much more talking going on around them!!
But Theo has his negatives mixed up - I've recently discovered that when he says 'I want it', it generally means 'I don't want it'!!!
