The Cosmic Light Scooter. In PINK.
A few weeks ago Freyja informed me that she wanted a pink scooter and a pair of trainers for Christmas. I did a bit of research (as you do) and the Early Learning Centre sold just the right thing - it was pink and, more importantly, it folds. Rather than lugging it out and then back again, I decided it would be easier to get one in Dubai. A few days ago I went to get it, to find that they only had blue ones in stock. They also only sold blue ones in Toys R Us.
So I asked Freyja if she wouldn't prefer a blue one, only to be informed that blue is for boys. Later I told her that Father Christmas had told me he was having a bit of trouble getting a pink one and would a blue one be okay. Apparently not. Anxious not to destroy the magic of Father Christmas before we've even really got started on it, I called Adrian and asked if he would be able to bring one with him. I then called the ELC in Bromley to reserve one, to be told that the only shop which had a pink one in stock was the Tunbridge Wells branch and to order one would take a week. Online I couldn't find any with next day delivery which was needed to get it to Adrian in time. I never thought I would find myself bending over backwards to find the perfect Father Christmas present for my child, but here I was franctically googling Cosmic Light Scooter in PINK and going through pages and pages to try and locate one.
Finally I found one - in a toy shop in Charlton, which Adrian could pop to after work. Mission accomplished and the dream of Father Christmas would continue.
Or maybe not. Yesterday I took Freyja to see some fountains. There was a little boy riding round on a yellow Winnie the Pooh scooter and she turned to me and said 'I want a yellow scooter'.
Don't tell her Daddy....

rofl - Jacob changes his mind every minute or so about what he wants. At least "bike" is fairly constant - which is just as well as there's one covered up in the garage waiting for him :)
