Half way through
I had my 20 week scan yesterday. Despite being seen within 20 minutes, 2 hours later I was still there because Baby No. 2 was not playing ball and they just could not get the last picture they needed - one of the base of the spine. I jiggled around, went to the loo, went away for 20 minutes, tried a different sonographer but this baby would not move. Adrian thinks it's a good sign - maybe we'll get a sleepy soul this time! Eventually I was told to go home and come in again the next day. So lunch time today found Freyja and me back at Lewisham hospital, where, fortunately, the baby had moved into the perfect position and all of 30 seconds later it was finished. All looks fine, and no, we didn't find out the sex.

Freyja was very interested. I had not mentioned the baby up to this point, but she seemed to grasp that the picture on the telly was a baby and this morning when I asked her what was in mummy's tummy she said 'baby'. Unfortunately she also cried and tried to get on my knee for the first time in ages when I held my friend's little 5 month old...

I think Adrian's right. Esme had to be jiggled and coaxed and jollied about for every scan and just lay there sleepy, comfortable and unhelpful every time, to the point where I had to book follow-up appointments in the hope she'd have moved by next time. And she's always been a sleepy baby. Touch wood. Hope yours is too.
not wanting to rain on anyone's parade, but I had the same trouble with Sam at his 23 week scan.
and he's still not sleeping through the night and wakes up at 5.30am most mornings.....
