Dubai

At 9 weeks of age, Freyja took her first international flight to Dubai. Here she is on the aeroplane:

We went for just over 3 weeks and Adrian joined us for the last week we were there. I hated leaving him, especially while Freyja is still so young, but we did have a wonderful time. And going to meet him at airport made leaving him for so long almost worth it!

I think the photos really sum up Freyja's holiday better than I could. So, here goes.

Sunbathing in the garden:

Freyja's first swim:

With her cousins, Harry and Max. They call her Baby Freyja or 'My Baby'! When I took her into school to meet Marilyn, Harry's teacher, Harry was saying to all of his friends 'This is my baby! Do you want to see my baby?'!

Swimming with mummy and daddy:

Nap time!

One of the best things to come out of the holiday in Dubai (apart from the suntan which even Freyja got! She has Adrian's skin) was that we finally have a bed time. Before I left I was pretty much going to bed with Freyja at around about 9pm and feeding her until she went to sleep. In Dubai, I started putting her in the sling at around 7.30pm, after a feed, and found that would fall deeply asleep. She wasn't sleeping much at all during the day (in fact, only really in the sling with a few cat naps here and there) but in the evenings, once fed and snuggled up, she pretty much slept until I went to bed at 10pm, when I would take her out, feed her and put her down in the cot. When we got back home, Adrian persuaded me to try and put her down in her cot rather than in the sling, and what do you know but it worked.

We have our evenings back! I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful it is.
